What We Do

The CalHHS Center for Data Insights and Innovation (CDII) provides an infrastructure for data sharing that helps Californians access, use, and understand data from the California Health & Human Services Agency (CalHHS). CDII works with California state agencies and external partners to develop products and services to improve data sharing and analysis.

The Data Exchange Framework (DxF) is working to advance health equity and promote the safe, effective, and real-time sharing of health data and information among California’s health and human services providers for a healthier California for all.

CDII rates health plans and medical groups using health care performance measures based on quality of medical care and patient experience.

The Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects (CPHS) CPHS serves as the institutional review board (IRB) for CalHHS. The role of the CPHS (and other IRBs) is to ensure that research involving human subjects is conducted ethically and with minimal risk to participants.
